Module 3: Developing Effective Evaluation Plans for NIH Training Grant Proposals

Purpose: This module equips learners with the knowledge and tools needed to develop a compelling, structured evaluation plan for NIH institutional research training grant proposals. By dissecting sample evaluation plans and providing step-by-step guidance, participants will understand how to align their evaluation strategy with NIH expectations and demonstrate measurable program success.

• Explain the purpose and required elements of an evaluation plan in NIH institutional research training grant proposals. 

• Analyze sample evaluation plans to identify how components align with NIH expectations and effectively demonstrate program impact. 

• Develop a structured evaluation plan that includes evaluation questions, outcomes, logic models, data collection strategies, and reporting approaches.
